Vipava
Vipava is located in the west of Slovenia, near the border to Italy, its Celtic name means “the valley under the rocks” and its long history is still visible through the cultural heritage of the valley.
Just above the town lies the mount Nanos and the widely known Postojna Cave (Postojnska jama). In that same area you can also visit the picturesque Rakov Škocjan valley, which was formed by sinking and collapsing of a cave ceiling.
Vipava valley offers great hiking, cycling and mountain biking, as well as climbing that is very popular due to its numerous routes.
Besides, the Vipava River is a rare river with a delta source , formed by nine main springs, where you can practice SUP (stand up paddle) and fly-fishing.
